Synopsis/Summary of Qualifications: Mr. Drygas experience includes thirty seven years in the field of Fire Protection Engineering and Loss Control including over thirty years of managerial responsibility in this area. From recommendations for loss control measures at individual fire and explosion hazards to development of overall corporate guidelines in the fire loss control, his experiences are wide ranged. They have included corporate policy development, short and long range fire protection implementation plans, flood protection and earthquake studies, and review of fire protection systems for normal and special hazards. Mr. Drygas has overseen the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems at hundreds of generator plants of all sizes from a 15 kw hydroelectric antique to state of the art 135 kw cross-fired high pressure gas combustion turbines. He has developed water-based systems, carbon-dioxide, various other gasses and halon and has worked on the design of water mist systems. He has developed disaster plans for natural and man-made hazards, and has participated in loss control educational programs for various clients. Mr. Drygas has also provided OSHA survey information to assist clients in preparing for OSHA visits nationwide. Mr. Drygas has authored a paper on "The Requirements of A Highly Protected Risk" to assist clients in developing a master plan for improvement of their properties. In the course of his experience Mr. Drygas has investigated losses in many areas. These have included fires in ordinary combustibles, flammable and combustible liquids, chemical incidents and explosions, an earthquake, flood and other natural hazards incidents. Additionally, in the course of his job functions and Committee work with the NFPA, he has helped program and direct fire research analysis ranging from cooking oils and beverage syrups to various flammable liquids in high-piled storage areas. Mr. Drygas has over twenty five years of experience in the area of public utility and private sector electrical power generation facilities. This has involved working with clients in the public utility field such as Com-Ed in New York, Del-Marva located in the Delaware-Maryland-Virginia peninsula. Central Hudson Electric and Gas in the Hudson River Valley of New York, and GPU Services Group in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additionally he has worked with clients in the private sector in the development of fire protection and loss control for co-generation facilities. Other consulting assignments have included facility surveys, special water supply analysis, flood and earthquake potential studies, development of specific hazard control recommendations and pre-planning of buildings and operations. Mr. Drygas has also done other natural hazard assessment studies in various countries. He is a member of several professional and technical societies and serves on the NFPA Rack Storage of Materials Committee, the Committee on Foam Water Sprinklers and the National Fire Prevention Research Foundation Committee on Flammable Liquids Protection. He has been an adjunct Professor at the College of Insurance in New York City in the fields of Fire Protection and Loss Control. |
